Literally Balling | MOONSHOT VS.004

MOONSHOT VS.004 - Porcelain, gold dust and resin, edition of 33 unique pieces, available now at Literally Balling

Kintsugi - the ancient Japanese practice of ceramic repair, celebrates a vessel’s imperfections by re-joining it’s parts with gold dust and resin - highlighting cracks and repairs as formative parts of an object’s history.

In collaboration with ceramicist Brock Deboer, MOONSHOT VS.004 parallels this philosophy, allegorically memorializing the challenges of an athlete’s journey by constructing, destroying and repairing a porcelain basketball with this storied process.
